Erin Schlarb has been part of The Turquoise Iris Journal since its beginning, helping bring each volume to life through technology, project management, and the systems that support the Journal behind the scenes.

Her ongoing work includes leading the Journal’s technology and digital projects, helping organize the many moving pieces that go into each issue, and creating tools that make it easier for readers to discover the artists, stories, and creative work that have been part of the Journal over the years.

Away from the screen, Erin finds her creative outlet in the garden. After spending so much of her professional life working with technology, screens, and pixels, she loves the tangible nature of gardening: getting her hands dirty, working with something real, and watching it change and grow.

She is especially drawn to dahlias, with their intricate forms, seemingly endless variety, and remarkable beauty. Her love of flowers is part of a broader connection to the natural world. Erin enjoys being outdoors, hiking, growing things, and creating spaces where she can slow down and pay attention to what is happening beyond a screen with her family.
