How do I become a contributor to The Turquoise Iris Journal?
Contributors to The Turquoise Iris Journal are invited to apply through our editorial team, and we also welcome applications through the Submissions page on our website.
We’re always looking for talented artists, makers, photographers, writers, flower growers, and creative entrepreneurs with meaningful stories to share. If you believe your creative journey aligns with the mission of the Journal, we’d love to learn more about you.
What types of artists are featured?
The Turquoise Iris Journal celebrates creativity in many forms. While we often feature artists with an established body of work, we don’t expect contributors to have decades of experience or a large professional résumé. We believe every artist has a story worth sharing.
More than anything, we’re interested in the person behind the artwork. We look for creatives who are passionate about their craft, generous in sharing their process, and committed to inspiring others.
Our pages have featured painters, mixed media artists, furniture restorers, photographers, fiber artists, clay artists, floral designers, flower growers, printmakers, watercolor artists, illustrators, and many other creative entrepreneurs. If your work is rooted in creativity and thoughtful craftsmanship, we’d love to see it.

Do I need a large social media following to be featured?

How are contributors selected?
Every volume of The Turquoise Iris Journal is carefully curated around a unique editorial vision. Contributors are selected based on how their work and story fit within that vision while creating a balanced, inspiring experience for readers.
As we review submissions, we consider several factors, including:

What happens after I'm accepted?
Congratulations! Once you’ve been selected as a contributor, our editorial team will guide you through each step of the process.
You’ll receive information about your featured volume, prompts to help you prepare your article, and guidance on the types of photography and content we’re looking for. We’ll also request a professional artist bio, links to your website and social media, and several high-quality headshots (rather than casual selfies).
Throughout the process, our team is available to answer questions and help you create a feature you’ll be proud to share with your audience as a published artist.
Is there a submission fee?
No. There is no fee to apply for consideration as a contributor to The Turquoise Iris Journal.
We believe every artist should have the opportunity to share their work, regardless of where they are in their creative journey. Applying is free, and every submission is thoughtfully reviewed by our editorial team.
